How Hours Worked Is Calculated

Hours Worked counts the hours you were active in the field — this article explains exactly how that number is calculated.

The Short Answer

Hours Worked counts the number of distinct clock hours in which you logged at least one action. It does not count the total number of actions you performed.

How It Works

Think of each hour of the day as a bucket: 1:00–1:59 PM, 2:00–2:59 PM, and so on.

If you perform any action during a bucket — one knock, or fifty — that bucket counts as 1 hour worked.

Example:

  • 1:00–1:59 PM: 50 door knocks → 1 hour worked

  • 2:00–2:59 PM: 1 door knock → 1 hour worked

  • 3:00–3:59 PM: 0 actions → 0 hours worked

  • Total: 51 actions → 2 hours worked

No matter how many actions you log in a single hour, it only counts once.

What Counts as an Action

Any workflow action logged in Terros counts toward Hours Worked — door knocks, pitches, sets, not homes, etc. The specific actions depend on your company's workflow configuration.

Why This Method

This approach gives a consistent measure of time in the field regardless of how frequently reps log activity. A rep who knocks 100 doors in an hour registers the same as one who knocks 10 — both were active that hour.

Common Questions

Why does my Hours Worked seem low?

Check whether you were logging actions consistently throughout the day. If you knocked 40 doors all between 2:00–2:30 PM and nothing else, your Hours Worked for that session is 1 — even though you may have been outside longer.

Does Hours Worked include breaks or travel time?

No. Only hours where at least one action was logged are counted. Time between actions does not count.

Does it matter how many actions I log per hour?

No. One action in an hour and one hundred actions in an hour both count as 1 hour worked.

Is Hours Worked the same as Days Worked?

Days Worked counts the number of distinct calendar days where you logged at least one action. Hours Worked counts the number of distinct hours across all your active days.

Can I see which hours counted?

Not directly on the stats page. The Activity Trail (web) shows a log of your actions with timestamps if you want to audit your activity hour by hour.
