Can I Use Premium Filters Without a Subscription? (iOS)

You can use standard Canvass filters on iPhone without Canvass Pro or Canvass Max access. Premium filters require the right Canvass access on your account.

Overview

The Terros iPhone app includes both standard Canvass filters and premium Canvass filters.

Standard filters are available to users who can access Canvass. Premium filters are tied to Canvass Pro or Canvass Max access, so they may not appear or may be locked if your account does not include them.

Standard Filters

Standard property filters help you narrow the Canvass map using basic home details.

In the current iPhone app, standard filters include:

  • Owner Occupied

  • Year Built

  • Home Size (sq ft.)

You can use these filters without a Canvass Pro or Canvass Max subscription.

Premium Filters

Premium filters add more detailed property, resident, permit, and solar-related data.

Depending on your account access, premium filters can include:

  • Resident Age

  • Credit Score

  • Last Sold Date

  • Pools

  • Home upgrade permit filters, such as roof, HVAC, EV charger, electrical panel, home addition, ADU, electric water heater, or spa / sauna data

  • Solar permit filters

  • Solar installer filters

  • Solar financing filters

These filters require Canvass Pro or Canvass Max access. If your account does not have the needed access, the app removes those filters from the available filter set.

Quick Filters

Some built-in Quick Filters also depend on premium access.

If a Quick Filter requires access you do not have, the iPhone app may show:

  • Requires Canvass Pro subscription

  • View Plans

If you try to apply a locked premium filter, the app may also show Canvass Pro Required with the message This filter requires a Canvass Pro or Max subscription.

Why You May Not See the Same Filters as Someone Else

Two users may see different Canvass filters because filter access depends on the account.

This can happen when:

  • one user has Canvass Pro or Canvass Max access and another does not

  • one user has trial access and another does not

  • the needed data is not available for that market or property

  • a premium Quick Filter requires an entitlement your account does not have

Need Help?

If you believe you should have access to a premium filter but do not see it in Canvass, contact support and include the filter name you expected to use.
