Troubleshooting Canvass Pin Visibility (iOS)

If pins are not showing on the Canvass map, the most common causes are the Pins layer, active filters, zoom level, or the area of the map you are viewing.

Written by Helaina Parks

Check the Pins layer

1. Open Canvass.

2. Tap Layers.

3. Make sure Pins is turned on.

The Pins layer controls whether Canvass pin data can appear on the map. If Pins is turned off, turn it back on and wait for the map to reload.

Check active filters

Filters can limit which pins are shown.

On the Canvass map, look for the filter control. If filters are active, the filter control may show Filtered by and the current filter mode.

You can:

  • Tap the filter control to edit filters.

  • Long-press the filter control and choose Turn Filters Off.

  • Long-press the filter control and choose Edit Filters... to review the current filter setup.

Filters may be based on Properties or Sales Activity. If a filter is too narrow, only matching pins will appear.

Check Quick Filters

The filter menu can also include Quick Filters.

Quick filters are grouped by:

  • Properties

  • Sales Activity

If a quick filter is selected, try turning filters off or switching to a broader filter to see whether more pins appear.

Check Just Me mode

If your map is focused on your own work, Canvass may show only your activity and accounts.

If you expected to see the full team's pins, turn off Just Me or switch back to the broader Canvass view.

Zoom in or out

Canvass changes how map data appears based on zoom level.

When you are zoomed far out, the map may show a heatmap or grouped view instead of individual pins. Zoom in closer to see account pins or full property pins.

If the map is still loading, wait a moment after zooming or moving the map.

Check the area you are viewing

Pins only appear where Canvass has data for the visible area. If you are looking at an area outside your assignment, outside downloaded data, or outside available map coverage, pins may not appear.

Try moving back to a known assigned area, then wait for the map to load.

If pins still do not appear

Try these steps:

1. Confirm Layers > Pins is on.

2. Turn filters off.

3. Switch out of Just Me if you need to see more than your own activity.

4. Zoom in closer on the map.

5. Move to an assigned area where you expect Canvass data.

6. Check your internet connection and let the map finish loading.

7. Close and reopen Canvass.

If pins still do not appear after those steps, contact support through Help & Feedback in the Terros app.
