Common Settings Tasks

Initial Setup

When setting up Terros for the first time:

  1. Start with General to configure company basics

  2. Set up Roles to define permission levels

  3. Configure Permissions for each role

  4. Create Custom Fields for company-specific data

  5. Set up Workflows or Account Stages depending on your model

  6. Define Dispositions or Closer Outcomes as needed

Ongoing Management

Regular settings maintenance:

  • Review and update Permissions when roles change

  • Add new Custom Fields as business needs evolve

  • Update Workflows when processes change

  • Create new Custom Stats for emerging metrics

  • Manage API Keys and Webhooks for integrations

Team Customization

Tailor Terros to your team:

  • Create Custom Fields for unique data tracking

  • Design Pitch Scorecards matching your sales approach

  • Add Custom Stats for your key performance indicators

  • Set up Links to frequently used external tools

Best Practices

  • Limit admin access - Only give settings access to admins who need it. Settings changes affect the entire company.

  • Test before rolling out - When possible, test new configurations with a small group before company-wide deployment.

  • Document changes - Keep notes on why settings were configured certain ways, especially for complex workflows or permissions.

  • Review regularly - Audit settings quarterly to ensure they still match your business processes.

  • Communicate changes - Notify users when settings changes affect their workflows or available features.

  • Back up critical configs - Take screenshots or notes of important configurations before making major changes.

Troubleshooting

Can't see Settings in the menu

Settings requires admin-level permissions. Contact your admin if you need access.

Missing expected settings sections

Some sections only appear if:

  • You have the required permissions

  • The feature is enabled for your company

  • Your company's plan includes that feature

Changes not taking effect

Some settings changes require users to log out and back in. Try refreshing the page or restarting the browser.

Can't save changes

Verify you have the required permissions for that specific settings section. Some sections have different permission requirements.

Unsure what a setting does

Hover over settings for tooltips, or check the help documentation for that specific section before making changes.
